Great post Robert! I'd be interested reading posts on any of the items you mentioned, but I also think there is a bottomless appetite for forecasts and analysis regarding the US real estate market if you ever feel inclined to write about that.
Thanks, that makes sense. It's always kind of shocking for me to see national housing market data, because right now the median price of a single family detached home on O‘ahu where I live is $986K...

Thanks, Jonathan! What do you think would be the right thing to forecast? The Case-Shiller Index? Something else?
Case-Shiller is probably the gold standard, but the time lag is pretty long, so I think the US Existing Home Median Sales Price from YCHARTS is a pretty good indicator (https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_existing_home_median_sales_price).
For example, a potential buyer or seller might use something like this (https://manifold.markets/JonathanMann/will-the-us-existing-home-median-sa) to decide how much to bargain as part of a negotiation.

Good post Robert. For your question, I'd be most interested in discussions of forecasting techniques.
Thanks, Al! That's really good to know. I think a lot of other readers would be interested in them too.
