Absolutely incredible achievement. That moment where the therapist let your Koko Head goal pass without comment speaks volumes about how medical benchmarks sometimes miss what really drives recovery. I saw something similiar with my aunt after her knee surgery when she set a goal everyone thought was unrealistic. The gap between clinical expectations and human determination is where the real stories live, and this one's powerful.
Thanks! That means a lot to me. I was very happy to have proved the physical therapist's expectations wrong, but I didn't mind her reaction. She wasn't discouraging, but she didn't make any promises either. That must be a hard needle to thread. In the end it wouldn't have helped me to think it was going to be easy. I'm glad your aunt managed to overcome expectations too. Recovery is hard work; I have enormous respect for what it takes.
congrats on your recovery!
(I injured my own ankle about a week ago and haven't recovered yet.)
Thanks! One thing I've learned is that recovery requires a frustrating amount of patience. I hope your ankle heals soon.
